Soletrax installs and performs the commissioning of its first photovoltaic plant with the TRXONE™.

The project has been validated through rigorous aerodynamic wind tunnel tests and finite element analysis, confirming the product’s feasibility and bankability in collaboration with DNV and CENER. In addition, to demonstrating the reliability of the design and supply chain, Soletrax has successfully tested the TRXONE™ Smart Controller, enabling independent and optimal solar tracking, avoiding the limitations of dual-row systems. This first project marks the beginning of a promising path for Soletrax in the solar market. "

Soletrax has taken a key step in the development and commercialization of the TRXONE™, its latest-generation single-row tracker, by constructing its first photovoltaic plant, designed to minimize land movement.

In collaboration with RWDI, Soletrax successfully performed rigid and full aeroelastic 3D aerodynamic tests in its wind tunnel in Canada and modeled each joint and component of the TRXONE™ using finite element analysis (FEM). Additionally, they were tested in a mechanical workshop until failure. The construction of this plant confirms the product’s and the company’s feasibility and bankability. This process was carried out alongside DNV and CENER, and is backed by the upcoming IEC 62817:2014 solar tracker certificate and ISO 9001, both currently in process.

The assembly of the plant demonstrated the ease of installing the TRXONE™ parts, thanks to the bolt kits, which not only reduce installation time but also minimize material loss. Additionally, the bearings fit easily into their support pieces and clamps due to the precision of the mold geometry, ensuring quick and accurate assembly.

Beyond the TRXONE™ design and construction capabilities, the supply chain’s reliability has also been validated, strictly adhering to the agreed deadlines and prices despite current international logistical challenges. A non-negotiable criterion for Soletrax’s supplier selection is technical and financial solvency, as well as a proven track record and commitment to delivery times and product quality.

The Soletrax quality team has conducted a thorough inspection at all project stages, from (i) the manufacturing of each component, (ii) its packaging, loading, transport, and unloading, (iii) the traceability of the parts, to (iv) the final assembly of the TRXONE™ tracker. The supervisors verified strict compliance with the Assembly Manual, ensuring 30-year quality assurance.

A key element of this process was the detailed training provided to the installers, who accurately completed the assembly of the “Golden Row,” followed by training of the plant’s O&M (operation and maintenance) team.

Finally, the TRXONE™ Smart Controller was successfully tested, through its Main Control Units (MCUs) and Secondary Control Units (SCUs). This system allows all trackers in the plant to operate independently and optimally, avoiding the design limitations of competing dual-row trackers that create “master” and “slave” hierarchies, substantially reducing generation and increasing land movement.

In addition to the intelligent control system, the terrain-adapted 3D backtracking algorithms have been validated, which eliminate panel shading and maximize energy generation. Furthermore, the diffuse condition generation algorithm has shown significant improvements in production without compromising the tracker’s integrity or battery autonomy.

The commissioning of this first plant equipped with TRXONE™ marks the beginning of a promising journey for Soletrax, committed to maximizing energy generation with minimal land impact, using reliable and cost-competitive structures.
